Our policies

Our policies are guided by the priorities outlined in the UN's Millennium Development Goals and by the ACFID Code of Conduct.

Child trafficking and sexual exploitation are the result of a complex set of causes and conditions. By addressing these complexities and supporting strategies for sustainable improvement in the lives of targeted beneficiaries, Lotus Outreach Australia's activities aim to:

  • reduce the vulnerability of women and children to exploitation by providing counselling, non-formal education and vocational opportunities (LOI)
  • encourage self-help and self-reliance amongst beneficiaries by focusing on co-operative, micro-finance and micro-enterprise activities
  • seek opportunities wherever possible to be an advocate for the rights of exploited women and children
  • foster linkages with like-minded organizations both nationally and internationally
  • support programs which are historically, socially and culturally appropriate

Lotus Outreach Australia is a Community Partner with the Australian Foundation for the People's of Asia and the Pacific (AFAP).
